Dr. Leah Paterno-Olivari
Dr. Paterno-Olivari joined the Lake Norman at Mooresville Animal Hospital team in 2024. She is known as “Dr. PO” around the office. Dr. PO was born in New Jersey and lived there until she moved to Massachusetts for higher education. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Mathematics at Northeastern University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Tufts University. She decided to move to North Carolina in hopes of warmer weather and less snow shoveling.
She grew up surrounded by plenty of dogs, cats, rabbits, hermit crabs, fish, lizards, and frogs and was always trying to learn more about animals. She quickly discovered a passion for learning, teaching, and helping others and felt veterinary medicine cultivated these interests. Dr. PO's professional interests include dentistry, soft tissue surgery, client education, and community engagement.
In addition to her love of animals, Dr. PO enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, baking, and exploring new places. She does not currently have any pets but is eager to eventually have fur children of her own.
