Dr. Madison Cloninger
Anna Austin grew up in Eden, NC where her parents fostered her love of animals. She received her degree in Zoology from NC State as a Park Scholar and then went on to veterinary school at the University of PA. She completed a one year internship in VA before coming back to NC. Her veterinary interests include ultrasound, behavior and geriatric care. When not working she enjoys reading, horseback riding and time at the lake with her 2 children and husband, Scott.
Carlene Smith grew up in Mooresville and began working with the hospital’s original owner over 30 years ago while she was still in high school. Carlene attended Davidson College prior to veterinary school. She is a dear friend to both the pets and their owners she has come to know over the years. In her spare time she enjoys caring for her family farm, hobby chickens, and cats, as well as dragon boat racing!
Dr. Barbee was born and raised in Texas. She attended Texas A&M University (Gig’em Aggies!) where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she moved to Salisbury, North Carolina to be closer to family and in search of cooler weather. There she worked as a small animal veterinarian for 7 years before joining Mooresville Animal Hospital in May 2017. Joining Dr. Barbee in North Carolina is her fiancé, Brian and 3 fur babies Dottie (chihuahua/terrier mix), Olive (brown tabby cat), and Sasha (calico cat).
Her special interests include internal medicine and client education. She is happy to be a member of the Mooresville Animal Hospital team and is excited to meet you and help provide the best options/care for your individual pet. Outside of work she enjoys fishing, traveling, live music and reading. She is an avid San Antonio Spurs basketball and Texas A&M football fan.
Beth has been with our hospital 21 years and as she puts it this is her second family. When not helping care for pets she enjoys spending time doing crafts, decorating, organizing, planning parties and occasionally gardening, She is married and cares for her father.
Elizabeth has formal training in the veterinary technical sciences. She has been an assistant for multiple years and enjoys getting to know her patients and helping educate the pet parents.

Austin is originally from Cummings, GA. He brings a positive outlook to every situation he can and is always trying to make people smile. He loves that his job is to help man’s best friend. He is currently enrolled in formal veterinary technician training but has over 4 years of on the job training.
Sheena- Professional Groomer
Sheena has not only a talent for beautifully styling her customers, she also makes them feel almost immediately comfortable and at ease with her kind demeanor.
